Beautiful Online Surveys Meet Pixel-Perfect Email Marketing
My co-founder Sean and I love talking to customers. Since we first started GetFeedback over a year and a half ago, we’ve had the pleasure of speaking with thousands of great companies, and really listening to what they wanted from a modern survey tool. One thing we’ve heard loud and clear is that our customers want GetFeedback to be open and work seamlessly with third party systems, including 3rd party email marketing applications and CRM applications like Salesforce. This openness is a core part of our DNA and will not change.
At the same time, one of our top feature requests is to include native email marketing capability directly within GetFeedback. Our customers have asked for a core email feature set that would allow GetFeedback to not only create engaging online surveys, but then deliver those survey with a rich email template, automatically track opens, clicks, and then magically send reminders emails to folks who did not respond.
When we sat down to discuss the development effort around email marketing, we realized that the investment would be significant. While we have become experts in online surveys, we quickly came to the conclusion that email marketing was an entirely different beast. Email deliverability, spam filters, an explosion of every-changing email clients, not to mention Outlook 2003!
Sean mentioned that we should look to partner with one or two email marketing companies and go deep on product integration. That led us to search for email marketing companies that had significant market traction but also shared our vision for creating simple and elegant business software. At the top of our list was Campaign Monitor, a global leader in email marketing with over 120,000 customers in more than 170 countries around the world.
At roughly the same time, Dave and Ben (the founders of Campaign Monitor and avid surfers from Sydney Australia), stumbled upon GetFeedback after receiving a survey from one of our customers, the Association of Surfing Professionals. They felt the same way about the GetFeedback as we felt about Campaign Monitor, and we began having conversations about how we might work together in a more strategic manner.
Today we’re excited to announce that GetFeedback has been acquired by Campaign Monitor. With the added resources of a larger company, we will now be able to move even faster. Existing GetFeedback customers will start seeing new improvements to the GetFeedback service immediately, including additional survey features, native email delivery, and expanded 24/7 global support.
